---------------------------------------------------------------------

      GopherMail je specializovany gophersky klient, ktery vytvari
rozhrani s uzivatelem vyhradne na zaklade e-posty. Uzivatel od neho
dostava v e-dopisech gopherska menu se smerovacimi udaji gopherskeho
protokolu nebo soubory. V prijatem menu oznacuje radky menu, ktere si
preje ziskat a takto upraveny dopis posila klientovi. Zname dva
pracujici klienty tohoto typu:

            gopher@dsv.su.se
            gopher@calvin.edu.

      Jak pozorny ctenar zjisti z mapy gopheru na VSCHT, je na tomto
serveru rovnez klient tohoto druhu. Zda je plne funkcni, nepodarilo se
nam dopusud zjistit.

    GopherMail ma obrovsky vyznam pro internetovske uzivatele, kteri maji
pristup do Internetu pouze na urovni e-posty. Protoze na gopherech jsou dnes
realizovany prechody na radu jinych internetovskych sluzeb (Archie,
FTP, NetNews, Wais a pod.), jsou temto uzivatelum zpristupneny dalsi
atraktivni sluzby. Ani pro uzivatele s plnou internetovskou konektivitou
neni GopherMail bez pritazlivosti.

    Praci lze zacit zaslanim prazdneho dopisu s prazdnym radkem
"Subject:" treba prvemu klientovi. Odpovi hlavnim menu gopherskeho serveru
"dsv.su.se". V nem muzeme oznacit znakem X (x) pocatky pozadovanych radku,
napr. radku popisujiciho GopherMail. Postupnym opakovanim techto
operaci lze dojit k pozadovanym informacim, ktere poskytuji gopherske
servery. Cinnost lze zefektivnit tim, ze se v dopise ponechaji pouze
smerovaci udaje pro radek menu, ktery chceme zaktivizovat. Hlavni menu
gopherskych serveru muzeme pozadovat prazdnym dopisem a uvedenim adresy
serveru v radku "Subject:" (eventualne i portu oddeleneho od adresy znakem
"mezera", port 70 je implicitni). Podobne v tomto radku uvadime odpovedi
na pozadovane dotazy (indexy, klicova slova) pri aktivizaci menu typu
2 nebo 7. Pri aktivizaci menu typy 9 (binarni soubor) nebo "s" (zvukovy
soubor) klient zasle soubor uu-zakodovany. Odpovedi klienta obsahuji
implicitne radky

Split=27K....
Menu=100K.....

Tyto radky definuji, jak klient bude clenit odpoved na dopis z hlediska
maximalni delky prenaseneho souboru v Kb nebo maximalniho poctu radek
prenaseneho menu. Prepsanim muzeme menit tyto limity. Uvedenim znaku "0"
mechanizmus Split nebo Menu nebo oba dva vypiname.

Priklad 1: Zakladni menu serveru "pub.vse.cz"
