INTERNATIONAL MOBILE ACCESS TO THE INTERNET
NETWORK
In January, EuroTel Praha, in cooperation with EUnet, the leading European provider for
connections to the Internet network, has prepared a new item for its customers - the EUnet
Traveller service.
EUnet Traveller is a unique service that enables mobile telephone owners world-wide to
connect to the Internet network. Currently, EUnet provides a complete spectrum of Internet
network services in 42 countries around the world, of which 29 states are connected by
means of the EUnet Traveller service's special access point (among others, Austria,
Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland,
Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia,
Slovakia, Slovenia, the United States, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Great Britain).
With the EUnet Traveller service, a mobile telephone owner pays no monthly fees for access
to the Internet, only an activation fee and rate per minute for using the access point and
for the data connection between mobile telephones and the access point. Since a client
from a country with a EUnet Traveller access point pays only local fees, he can save
during connections that last several minutes - in comparison with ordinary international
rates - up to several hundred crowns! With just one user name and password, the owner has
access to a personal e-mail account, WWW pages, FTP services for transferring data files,
and News discussion groups! And finally, in January, EuroTel is offering free activation
of the EUnet Traveller service, with only the normal fee of 300 Kč!
The conditions for using the EUnet Traveller service are a GSM mobile telephone with a
data interface, an activated SIM card with a cellular number for voice and data, activated
international roaming, and a notebook computer or other devices and software that enable
communication with Internet network services.
The EUnet Traveller service is functional immediately after its activation, which can be
done by contacting EuroTel Praha's Customer Service Department by telephone, fax, or mail
(tel. 02/6701 6701, 0800 1 80011, or *11 when calling directly from a mobile telephone).
EuroTel Praha Ltd, is a joint venture of SPT TELECOM Inc. (51%) and Atlantic West B.V.
(49%). Altantic West B.V. is a company that is equally owned by BellAtlantic(NYSE:BELL)
and US WEST International, which is a part of the US WEST Media Group (NYSE:UMG).
