EuroTel Praha, the largest mobile phone operator in the Czech Republic, has become the general partner of a permanent exhibition entitled "Development of Telecommunication Technology" at the National Technical Museum. Another general partner of the exhibition, which was installed with the support of Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic Pavel Dostál, is SPT TELECOM Inc., other partners being Siemens and Philips ČR.

The exhibition, opened on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the National Technical Museum in Prague, presents all of the major technologies enabling transmission of information and communication. In the exhibition halls you can find samples of all used systems and technologies - telegraph, telephone, radio and television transmitters - as well as examples of state-of-the-art telecommunication products and services, such as the Internet, mobile phones, digital connecting systems, computer networks, technologies for transmission of data files, the ISDN digital network of integrated services, and satellite communications. Visitors of the Museum will have a chance to see the unique exhibit – mobile phone Nokia MD 59, which was the first mobile phone used in former ČSFR. The first mobile call was initiated on September 12th 1991 at the Valdstein Palace in Prague with the presence of many authorities and special guests. Ms. Shirley Temple-Black, the former Ambassador of the USA in Prague, call Ms.Rita Klímová, the former Czechoslovakian Ambassador in Washington.

With the support of EuroTel an exceptional exhibition has been set up, comparing favourably with similar projects abroad, which connects historical models and exhibits with the latest methods of interactive and multimedia presentation.

"We consider the association of the EuroTel trademark with the new exhibition at the National Technical Museum entirely logical," said Iva Taťounová, spokesperson of EuroTel Praha, at the opening of the exhibition. "EuroTel Praha, the first company to operate a mobile phone network in the Czech Republic, regularly introduces new products and services, and provides its customers with high quality and reliable services at international standards. Future development is directed towards the connection of modern information technologies with the advantages of the most modern communication systems, chiefly mobile phones and the Internet. Such are the high quality, universal, and convenient services that EuroTel provides."
