"ISO 9001" FOR EUROTEL
Today the Czech Republic Minister of the Environment,
RNDr. Miloš Kužvart, handed Ed Kingman, the Managing Director of EuroTel, the
prestigious ISO 9001 qualification for EuroTel Praha.
The awarding of this qualification means that EuroTel has successfully
gone through a certification audit of its quality control system as per the international
ISO 9001 standard, during which independent auditors from the renowned international
certification organization RWTÜV confirmed that EuroTel's activities are mutually
integrated and standardized, which guarantees the stable and consistent provision of
services to its customers.
”I am very pleased to be able to present this certificate, the value
of which I am very well aware of, precisely to EuroTel, and I would like to pass on my
sincere congratulations," Minister Kužvart stated on the occasion.
”Today EuroTel is acquiring an extremely prestigious qualification,
which ISO 9001 assuredly is, and EuroTel is the first and only mobile phone operator in
the Czech Republic to be so awarded. This is immensely gratifying and a great honor for
us. We see the awarding of ISO 9001 as proof of appreciation of our honest good work and
confirmation of the fact that our long-trod path of providing top quality has been and
remains correct. I would like to point out that meeting the very strict and detailed
criteria of this international standard was by no means simple, and that we were
successful only thanks to the enormous and goal-oriented efforts of our employees, who
have not only this international appreciation but also our heart-felt gratitude," Alexander
Winkler, EuroTel's Deputy Managing Director stated upon the awarding of the ISO 9001.
The ISO 9001 standard was originally created to guarantee the quality of
complex products, which depends on the quality of components from various manufacturers.
Its use in the area of services is not yet common, and achieving it therefore means for
EuroTel not only a confirmation of its dominant position in the mobile communications
market but also proof of the generally significant position that EuroTel holds in the
Czech Republic.
The importance of a certificate like ISO 9001 is best understood primarily by
large firms, which then give priority to purchases from certified partners. However,
EuroTel believes that even ordinary customers appreciate the certification as proof of the
top quality that EuroTel offers and provides to them.
Fulfilling the requirements of this demanding international standard in no
way means that EuroTel can rest on its laurels, but it does represent a sound basis for
further development.

communications market in this country. Today we can be certain that these never were and
are not now empty declarations," added EuroTel's Managing Director, Ed Kingman,
on the awarding of ISO 9001.
