Cobranded, Integrated Product Includes CA-Unicenter/ICE With Microsoft Windows NT Server and Microsoft Internet Information Server

REDMOND, Wash. and ISLANDIA, N.Y. - Dec. 7, 1995 - Building on their previous agreement, Computer Associates International Inc. (CA) and Microsoft Corp. today announced they will Internet-enable their cobranded, integrated product that manages Microsoft® Windows NT™ operating system-based servers.

Microsoft's strategy is to provide Internet and World Wide Web server support as an integral part of Windows NT. CA's strategy is to provide security and network and systems management for the Internet infrastructure with CA-Unicenter®/ICE (Internet commerce-enabled). Currently CA and Microsoft offer an integrated product that includes CA-Unicenter and Microsoft Windows NT Server, Systems Management Server and either Microsoft SQL Server™ version 6.0 or CA-OpenIngres. As previously announced, the product will be manufactured by Microsoft and marketed by CA through its direct sales force and reseller partners.
