MICROSOFT SIGNS LICENSING AND JOINT DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH NETMANAGE

REDMOND, Wash. -- Dec. 4 -- Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT) today announced that it has signed a software licensing and joint development agreement with NetManage, Inc. (Nasdaq: NETM). The two companies will be working together on OLE controls supporting Internet protocols which will be released by Microsoft next year. "These controls will make it very simple for developers working with OLE development tools to easily add Internet access and protocols to their existing applications," said Roger Heinen, senior vice president of the Developer Division at Microsoft. The controls will operate in all OLE control containers, including Microsoft Visual Basic, Visual FoxPro, Visual C++ and Access, as well as third party products. Product details and availability dates were not announced at this time.
