Prague's Accomodation

Contents

I am sorry but being Prague inhabitants, we have got no experiences with lodging here. That's why we need your feedback! If you know about a hotel, hostel, private rooms or camp site which you want to recommend to the others, let us know. If you find here a recommendation you do not agree with, or you have got any other tip related to accomodation, write us as well. Remember the others - if we were not able to advise you, with your help we might be able to advise someone else.

If you will write us, give name and address of the hotel, category (expensive hotel, student dormitory, bench under a bridge... :-), eventually prices and a few words about how it differs from the others. So that the mere list of suggestions does not became a set of business advertisments, we reserve the right to adjust or abridge your contribution.

If you have not found what you were looking for, don't worry. There are a few offices at Prague airport and the main station, mediating lodging services. Or, contact CKM a.s., Zitna 12, CZ-12000 Praha 2 - Nove Mesto (phone 291966, 24915767).

It is often very difficult to find free beds. Reservations are strongly recommended! If you are going to call to a cheap hotel, hostel or a private rooms provider, be prepared to have problems speaking English. German usually works better. This does not apply to expensive hotels where they speak at least English and German.

Private Rooms

There are several agencies offering room-finding services. Most will have photos of the room and show you where the place is on the map. Then, book for one night only. If you like the place, make your reservations directly with the place you are staying at. It will cost you half as much.

Hostels

In July and August there are cheap rooms in student dormitories. Check with CKM (Zitna 12, CZ-12000 Praha 2, phone 24915767) on the latest on hostels & dorms. Prices (1992): 110 to 350 Kcs / person.
