Basic facts. This section offers you general information about the Czech Republic, its topography, waters and climate. Among other items you can find here a picture of the national flag, the national emblem and a sound bite of the national anthem. For more detailed information you can also consult the Czech Info Centre.


People. Population growth, birth rate, mortality rate, ethnic groups, religion, eductaion and employment.


Geography. Here you can find general facts and figures regarding the geography of the Czech Republic, a big and small map of the Czech Republic, a map of Eastern Europe and the Czech republic as it is represented in the CIA World Fact Book 1994.


Regions and Cities. This section gives you statistical data and a brief overview of indrustry, transportation and tourism in the individual regions of Bohemia and Moravia (Western, Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern Bohemia, and Southern and Nothern Moravia). You can visit the City of Prague, learn about the history of the city, and discover places of interest. Eurotraveller - Prague offers you some useful tourist information. History. Basic historical outline followed by more detailed describtions of individual periods of Czech history - the Great Moravian Empire (9th century), the Premysl Dynasty (9th century - 1306), the Luxembourg Dynasty (1310 - 1437), the Hussite Revolution (1419 - 1436), The Jagellon Dynasty (1471 - 1526), the Habsburg Dynasty (1526 - 1918), the foundation of the modern Czech nation and Independent state (from 1918).


Political system. The Czech republic is a parlamentary democracy with a number of active political parties and movements. In this section you can find a short description of Czech political history, information about the most important constitutional institutions (e.g. President, Parlament, Chamber of Deputies, Senate, Government, the Supreme Audit Office, The Czech National Bank, The Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court), and an outline of the Czech political scene (political parties of coalition and opposition). Economy. You can find information on the exchange rate, foreign investment, the banking system, capital markets, investment opportunities and taxes in the Czech republic. Culture and the arts. Interesting insights into Czech culture are devided into five sections: Fine Arts, Music, Literature,Theatre and Film.
